My Travel Bucket List

I usually tend to just go with the flow, but I’ve seen bucket lists on a lot of other travel blogs and thought it would be fun to make one for myself!

To make myself feel accomplished, I started with some things that I have done that were definitely bucket-list experiences. So without further ado, here is my very incomplete and chaotic bucket list.

  • See a penguin in the wild (done 2013)
  • Travel solo (done 2013)
  • Learn to SCUBA dive (done 2015)
My first time using a GoPro underwater! I think I’ve improved since then?
  • Become a divemaster (done 2018)
  • Swim with a whale shark (done 2018)
  • Live in a foreign country (done 2019)
  • Visit all 50 US states
  • Visit 100 countries (35 so far!)
  • See the northern lights (done 2023)

  • Visit the Grand Canyon
  • See a giant redwood tree
  • Go drysuit diving (done 2019)
  • See the midnight sun (done 2020)

  • Freedive with sharks (done 2021)
  • Sail in the Caribbean (done 2021)
  • Zipline (done 2021)
  • Dive with hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos
  • Take a mountaineering course
  • Freedive to 100 ft
  • See a manta ray underwater
  • Hike in Patagonia
  • Visit the Arctic Circle (done 2020)
  • Learn to ski (done 2020)

  • Plan and go on a multi-day solo backpacking/camping trip
  • Climb Acatenango volcano in Guatemala
  • Ride in a helicopter
  • Visit all 7 continents (5 so far!)
  • Swim with a whale
  • Ride in a hot air balloon
  • Dive on the Great Barrier Reef
  • Sail to Greenland
  • Visit Patagonia
  • Live in my own van
  • Visit 100 National Parks in the USA (2/100 done!)
  • Go on a safari
  • Hike in the Dolomites
  • Be conversational in another language
  • See Victoria Falls
  • Learn to sail
  • Take a tech diving course


This bucket list is definitely a work in progress, so I’ll be updating it as I think of more things to add. Hope it provides some inspiration for your own travel bucket list!
